After nearly a decade of consulting in Southern California – and 27 years of living here – my wife and I are returning to our roots and moving to Natchez, Mississippi. I want to share both my business and personal plans with you and to say “thanks” for your support.

The obvious question many friends have asked is, “Are you retiring?” The answer is a resounding, “No.” I am not retiring. Communications being what they are today, consulting like mine can usually be done from any where. In the past, I have worked for clients in Washington State, Oregon, Illinois and other parts of California whom I never met in person. I have handled assignments for others in Texas and New York without ever being in the same room. Even with local clients, most of the work today is done via telephone and e-mail.

So, not only am I not retiring, but I plan to continue consulting with Southern California clients. When being together is essential, there are always airlines. Natchez is a beautiful town of 18,000 people located on the Mississippi River north of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. It is known for having dozens of classic antebellum Southern mansions as well as hundreds of smaller historical homes and buildings. We have purchased an 1890 Victorian in the middle of the historic district. While there is unlikely to be any consulting business for me in Natchez, I intend to begin serving clients in Jackson, Mississippi and Baton Rouge and New Orleans as well as Southern California and elsewhere.
